Photo Club

Mon Feb 16, 2009, 3:32 PM
So I'm setting up a Photography club at work. Not sure I really have the time to do this and well I'm certainly not the most experienced photographer, but it was my idea so now I appear to the the president of it.

I'm planning on running competitions, trying to set up deals with local photography shops and framing places for members as well as organize some trips and talks and so forth. I was wondering, are any of you members of photography societies? If so why did you join them and what do you find most useful? If you were to have a Photo club at work, what would you like it to do? (Do bear in mind that we will have a limited budget and no computers)

Any suggestions or tips would be really appreciated

Hey,

I'm a 27 year old satellite engineer. As a break from Engineering - not exactly the most creative of professions - I take photos. I'm trying to teach myself photo theory and photoshop but am still in the early stages so any hints, tips or critique of my images would be appreciated.

I live in North London and am currently loving the snow (02/02/2008).

Enjoy the gallery, Robyn

yeah, I haven't done anything with my travel pics for ages as there are just too many of them, but I am trying to put some into photobooks now and I have couple printed out. There may well be a lot more travel pictures up in the future. As I in my email, I didn;t realise I wasn't already watching you. I only decided to check when I realised I hadn't seen any new pictures of yours for a while

well i hope you had a browse then!

:+devwatch: you like buttons I like buttons [link] you just started here, for exactly the same reason I started here. Just for fun and a complete amateur...

although I have to admit taking tons of pictures helps improving yourself, and with :devart: it's a perfect platform. I think from all the comments :+fav:'s etc. that I received only ONE was a bit shifty/not nice. So it's a great ego booster ;)

Hey, year I quite like my buttons, I have my own button making machine that i used to make 200 protest buttons when they threatened to shut down our on site work pub.

Yeah I have started just for fun and also to get inspiration from other people. So far I'm really enjoying being on the site and hopefully with practice I will get better and I totally agree with your comment about it being an ego booster, its great when someone likes your stuff.

Anyway, I should get to work, I'm finding one slight issue with this sight is that it is somewhat addictive

No worries and thanks for the watch
